Delete your account or request your data
Last updated June 15, 2026
You can delete your Forager’s Fieldbook account, get a copy of the data we hold about you, correct it, or exercise any of the other rights described in our Privacy Notice at any time. This page tells you exactly how.
1. Delete your account from inside the App
The fastest way to delete your account is from within the App itself:
- Open Forager’s Fieldbook.
- Tap Settings (gear icon).
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Confirming inside the App deletes your account and the data associated with it from our active databases. There is no support ticket and no email chain — the in-app option performs the deletion as soon as you confirm.
Already removed the App or can’t sign in? Use the email path in Section 2.
2. Request deletion or other rights by email
If you cannot use the in-app option — for example, you have already uninstalled the App, you cannot sign in, or you want to exercise a right other than deletion (access, correction, or data portability) — email us at apps@baseninestudios.com and we will action your request manually.
Subject line: use Delete account or Data request.
Include in the body of your email:
- The email address associated with your account.
- Which right you are exercising — for example, deletion, access, correction, or data portability.
- A brief description of your request.
Identity verification. We will reply to confirm your request and verify your identity, typically by asking you to confirm from the email address associated with your account. We do this so we can be confident we are not deleting or sharing data with someone other than the account holder.
3. What gets deleted and what we keep
When your account is deleted (either in-app or via email):
- Deleted from our active databases: your account profile (display name, email, Google profile picture URL if you signed in with Google), every find you logged (with its species name, taxonomy, location, notes, harvest reminder, and photo filename references), every trip you recorded (with its name, notes, distance, duration, elevation, waypoints, and linked finds), and every harvest reminder you created.
- Retained briefly: offline backups roll off on their normal retention schedule (typically within 30 days); audit logs and fraud-prevention records are kept for as long as required by law or for legitimate security purposes, isolated from further processing and deleted when no longer needed.
- Stays on your device only: the photos themselves are not stored on our servers — they live in the App’s local storage on your device, and they are not affected by account deletion. To remove them, uninstall the App or delete them yourself in your device’s file manager.
4. Active subscriptions: cancel separately
Forager’s Fieldbook subscriptions are sold and billed by Google Play (on Android) and the Apple App Store (on iOS), not by us. Deleting your account in the App or by email does not automatically cancel an active subscription. To stop recurring billing, cancel through the store you bought it from:
- Google Play: support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7018481
- Apple App Store: support.apple.com/en-us/118428
5. How long it takes
In-app deletion is immediate. Email requests are actioned within the time period required by the law that applies to you:
- California (CCPA / CPRA): up to 45 days, extendable by another 45 days when reasonably necessary; we will tell you if we need the extension.
- EEA, UK, and Switzerland (GDPR): up to 30 days, extendable by 60 more days for complex requests.
- Other U.S. states: up to 45 days, in line with the law that applies to your state.
For the full list of rights available to you by jurisdiction, see What are your privacy rights? in our Privacy Notice.
